Elder Johnny BaileyJuly 30, 1933 ~ May 4, 2017 (age 83)
Elder Johnny Bailey was the devoted son of the late Tom and Pearl Pearson Bailey. He was born in Hartsville, SC on July 30, 1933. He was educated in the public schools of the county and was a 1950 graduate of Butler High School. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the U. S. Army. He served with distinction and obtained the rank of corporal. He was honorably discharged.
Because Elder Johnny was reared in a Christian home, he was introduced to the teaching of Jesus at an early age. He was later called into the ministry where he took pride in leading by example. He practiced what he preached. His attitude, behavior and character encouraged all he met to strive for excellence.
Those surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of forty-nine years Diane M. Bailey; his daughters, Lisa Mobley and Danielle Daughtry-Gilmore; four grandchildren; two siblings, Carolyn Bailey and Melvin Wilson; favorite cousins, Elizabeth Jones, Willie Pearson, Diane Smith, Gwendolyn Smith and other relatives and friends.
