Funeral service for Mr. Richard King Jr. will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday December 27,2009 at Hopewell Baptist Church in McBee,SC. Burial will be in Church Cemetery directed by Young and Young Funeral Home of Hartsville.

Mr. Richard King,Jr. went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ from the McLeod Hospice House in Florence,SC. He made his transition on December 20,2009. Our beloved one is resting. Isn't that good news?

Mr. King was the loving son of Mr. Richard Lee and Ophelia Harris King. He was born August 26,1951 in Chesterfield County,SC. He was educated in the Chesterfield County Public Schools wher he completed the twelfth grade and received his high school diploma.

Since Richard Jr. was raised in a Chhristian home, he realized the importance of having a personal relationship with the Master. He was a believer in the teachings of Jesus Christ and repented from his sins. He become a member of Hopewell Baptist Church where he enjoyed the preaching, singing and overall fellowship of the church.

Richard Jr. grew up in a household where hard work and a clean living were appreciated. He knew the value of stedy employment. He was a dedicated and valued employee of the City of Hartsville. He was a laborer and worked with the Sanitation Crew.

Richard Jr. was family and friends oriented. He loved social gatherings. He had friends because he was friendly. He was loyal,caring and concerned about people in general.

Those surviving to cherish his fond memories are: his parents, Richard and Ophelia King; his children, Keisha (James) Smith of Hartsville,SC, Kamesha (Lawrence) Day of Newport News, Virginia, Tracy (Tyron) Woods of Conway,SC, Rayshawn (Michele) King of Fort Dix, New Jersey and Jerrell (Cristy) King of Oswego, New York; ten grandchildren; siblings, Elaine (Irvin) Fitzgerald, Geraldine King, Helen (Willie) Dyers, Dorothy (Lee) Barrett, Betty Ann (Billy) Canty, Ernest King, Dorothy (Steve) Glasgoo, Wendy (Harvey) Moses, Ronnie King, Brenda King and Virginia King; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, co-workers and friends.
