Funeral service for Mrs. Mabel Turner will be 2:00 pm Tuesday January 26,2010 at Jerusalem Baptist Church. Burial will be in New Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery directed by Young and Young Funeral Home of Hartsville.
On Thursday,January 21,2010 the soul of our beloved Mrs. Mabel Turner winged its flight from this world of turmoil,sin and pain to enter into that peaceful place called eternity.She made her transition from her residence at 1404 Flag Street,Hartsville,SC. Today, we family and friends,pause to pay tribute to that flight. We also celebrate the life and legacy of our loving family member.
Mabel was the loving daughter of the late James and Willie B. Williams. She was born in Darlington county on May 1,1925. She was educated in the public schools of Darlington County. She graduated from Butler High School. There she made friendships that all of her life.She had friends because she was friendly.
Because Mabel was raised in a Christian home,she realized the need to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. She accepted Christ as her savior and joined Jerusalem Baptist. At her beloved Church she enjoyed the preaching,singing and the overall fellowship.
She was united in holy matrimony to the late Carey Turner. This union brought financial,emotional and spiritual blessings.
She and her family lived for many years in New York. While there she worked as a Sales Consultant at Cosmetic Yours. She enjoyed her work because she provided a special service.
Mabel was loving,kind and generous. She loved family and friends and tried to help them realize thier potentials.
Surviving to cherish Mabel's memory are: her daughter, Pamela A. Roderick;two grandchildren, Ashia (Donald) Williams and Tedarriu Hammonds; seven grandchildren, Eshania, Adaja, Lasawtha, Ernadiya,Danoxia, Ashipiah and Serenity; two sisters, Mrs. Catherine Williams and Mrs. Lottie Marine; a devoted niece, Jackie M. Grant; nieces, Daisy Mae Marine, Annie Lee Simon , Debra Marine; Nephews, Bernard Marine and Terry Martin; cousins, Gat and Ethel Gattison;caregiver, Carrie Ludd; brothers-in-law,sisters-in-law,other nieces,nephews,cousins and friends.
