Funeral service for Mr. Hainey Bailey will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday February 13,2010 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.
Burial will be in the church cemetery directed by Young and Young Funeral Home of Hartsville.
Mr. Hainey Bailey,Jr. known to family and friends as "June" was born September 1,1942 in Darlington County. He was the loving son of the late Hainey Bailey,Sr. and Anna McKever Bailey Tedder. He was educated in the public schools of Darlington County in both Hartsville and Lamar.
Because of a great desire for a better life and a higher standard of living,"June" moved away. He lived for many years in New Jersey where he worked in construction and as a carpenter. He was a hard worker and was well known for being dependable. Because he wanted to enjoy the finer things in life,he maintained a clean lifestyle. He was thrifty, observant and determined to live a productive life.
"June" enjoyed living in the North as a younger man. As he matured and later retired,he often thought about a slower pace. He had many fond memories of family and friends from his youth. He returned to the land of his birth a few weeks ago. He was delighted to be around his relatives. He renewed old acquaintances.
He was family oriented and enjoyed the many social gatherings. He enjoyed going for walks because the walks brought clearness and peace of mind.
"June" is survived by his wife,Corine Bailey;step-mother, Ruth Bailey; two daughters, Sharon Bailey of Pennsylvania and Susan Hayes of Virginia;step-son, Jesse Damon of SC; two grandchildren; two sep-grandchildren; siblings, Willie Dowdy, Geneva Tedder, Lorine Tedder and Orell Tedder all of New Jersey, Georgia Moses, Idella Anderson, Linda (Jimmy) Timmons all North Carolina, Charles (Lola) Bailey, Charles (Hattie) Wilson, Hazel (Ann) Bailey, James McKever, Mary (Jerry) Scarborough, Mary Sowell, Marilyn (Donnell)Jenkins, Rosa Tedder, Ruth (Antonio) Johnson and Veretha Tedder all of South Carolina; a host of aunts,uncles,nieces,nephews,cousins and friends.
