Funeral service for Sister Irene Sudie Commander will be 3:00 p.m Saturday February 27,2010 at The Church in the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith, INC.
Burial will be in the church cemetery directed by Young and Young Funeral Home of Hartsville.
Sister Irene Sudie Commander was born in Lee County, SOuth Carolina on December 9, 1921. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Burrell and Mrs. Lottie Wells Arthur. She departed this earthly life on Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Richland Memorial Hospital. She will be truly missed by her family and friends.
Sister Commander was educated in the Lee County Public Schools. She was a hard worker, a dedicated and loving mother. She served as a good example to her children and others within her community.
She heard the Whole Truth Broadcast under Bishop L. Hunter and was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and received the gift of the Holy Ghost. She was a member of the Church In the Lord Jesus Christ Of The Apostolic Faith, Inc. and attended the Columbia Church until her health failed.
She was joined in holy matrimony to Mr. John Commander.
Sister Commander was preceded in death by: her parents, Mr. Burrell and Mrs. Lottie Wells Arthur; her husband, Mr. John Commander and a son, Mr. Leroy Commander.
Sister Commander leaves to cherish her memories: a son, Mr. Henry Commander of Columbia, SC; six daughters, Johnnie (Issac) Blakney of Hartsville, SC; Jannie (William) Harris of Brooklyn, NY, Annie (Jimmy) Holliday of Columbia, SC, Patricia Robinson of Hartsville, SC, Earnestine Commander and Mattie Commander of Columbia, SC; one daughter-in-law, Dorothy Commander of Newark, NJ; one brother-in-law, Leonest Goins of Baltimore, MD; and a host of other relatives and friends.
