On May 8, 1947 Burrell and Isabell McCoy Roary welcomed a son into the world in Lee County. He received his education in the public schools in the area and began working with BBA in Bethune for 38 years until retirement. Bobby was a longtime member of Galilee Baptist Church. On Wednesday, October 16, 2019 our dear Bobby answered the call of his maker and transitioned.
Those left to cherish his memories are his devoted wife, Willie Mae Pate Roary of the home; Three loving children, Brodderick Roary and Shandra (Reverend Wayne) Blackwell both of Florence, SC and Nika Reddick of Hartsville, SC; Three siblings, Ruby Mack and Bobbie Jean (Joy) Evans both of Durham, NC and Betty Lou Phillips of McBee, SC; Three grandchildren, Zhana (Sidney) Roary of Raleigh, NC, Zachary Roary of Columbia, SC and Jordan Blue of Hartsville, SC; Godson, Cartez Brewer of Hartsville, SC; Foster mother, Amanda Brewer of Hartsville,SC; Six foster sisters, Carrie (Kenneth) Alford, Annie (Gregory) Thompson, Laura (Earl) Miller and Callestine Benjamin all of Hartsville, SC; Evelyn Herring of Columbia, SC and Grace Brayboy of Fayettville, NC; Six foster brothers, Sidney Brewer and Willie (Shirley) Scott both of Hartsville, SC, Carl Brewer Sr. of Charlotte, NC, Luther (Edith) Benjamin of Kileen, TX, Windell (Denise) Johnson of McBee, SC and Lee Ernest Moore of Brooklyn, NY; Three sister-in-laws, Era Pate of McBee, SC, Deborah Reddick of Hartsville, SC and Valerie Sawyer of Florence, SC; Brother-in-law, Thurman Pate of Augusta, GA. a host of nieces, nephews and other close relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Burrell and Isabell McCoy Roary, Grandparents, John and Ella McCoy; Foster Parent Bishop Carlmilton Brewer, Siblings, Mildred Williams, Burrell Roary; Foster Siblings, Sandra Ervin, Minister Diretha Jackson, Willie Bud Brewer, Pastor Johnny L. Brewer, Garfield Black and Deacon Charles Scott.
