Elder James E. McFarland was born in Darlington, South Carolina on July 26, 1954. He was the beloved son of the late George J. Ketter and Lucille McFarland. He received his education in the public schools in the are and attended St. John High School as well. Inhabiting the quality of being a hard worker, he exemplified his dedication by being employed with Galey & Lord for 25 years until retirement. Elder McFarland was a member of Southside Baptist Church at the time of his passing. He was the former pastor of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church where pastored for eight years in Manning, South Carolina.
Surviving to cherish his memories and carry his legacy are his loving wife, Linda D. McFarland; Two children, Cynthia (William) Williams and Latasha (Timothy) McCray; Nine siblings, Kathy (Duwan) Mason, Angela McFarland, Eugenia Ketter, Roger (Deanne) McFarland, Robert McFarland, Johnny (Pamela) McFarland, Tyron McFarland, Bruce (Christine) Ketter and Balinda Ketter; Six grandchildren, one great grandchild; host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other close relatives and friends.
