Mrs. Geneva Jackson Hawkins was the loving daughter of the late John and Marie Boykin Jackson. She was born in Darlington County March 3, 1935. She was raised in a Christian home along with her sisters and brothers and was educated in the public-school area. Mrs. Geneva Jackson Hawkins, who was affectionately and passionately known to family as “Granny “, “Bae”, and “Aunt Gin” was called home to rest July 12, 2019 in the comfort of her home. Geneva was very family oriented, raising an abundance of children and considered them as her own. She was a woman who believed that a family should work together and love one another. She was there for her family on all levels. Because of her love of and concern for family, everyone loved and respected and admired her to the fullest. Geneva was an inspiration to all who knew her and was special to her family and friends. The joy of her life was spending time especially with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Geneva was a hard-working woman who did what was needed to be done in order to provide for her family and friends. She knew that her service was the key to a successful happy and fulfilling life.
Geneva leaves to cherish her precious memories: Two daughters, Elizabeth Hawkins and Sharon Hawkins, Hartsville SC; two sons, Albertus Hawkins Jr and Gerald Hawkins of Hartsville SC: one sister Gladys Jackson, Hartsville SC; six grandchildren, Treka Hawkins, Laterria (Tyrone) Hawkins, Jessica (Terrion) Hawkins all of Hartsville SC; Kenyatta Hicks of McBee, SC; Daysia Hawkins, Florence SC, and Shatiyah King of Charlotte NC: ten great grandchildren, Tyquerria(Davijon) Hawkins, De ’Shon Hawkins, Davion Hawkins, Abu’Bakr Sims, Ma’Layah Holloman, Ty’Layah Jones all of Hartsville SC; Kayleya Hick, Kierra Hicks, Keresha Hicks all of McBee, SC; Kingston Jordan Florence SC: two great-great grandchildren Sariya and Siyuan McCall all of Hartsville SC; two sister-in-laws: Mable Coe and Wincy Hawkins-Reed of Hartsvill SC: two brothers-inlaw: Lide(Helen)Hawkins Jr. and Wesley McPhail Hartsville SC; three Godchildren: Joann(Timothy)Benjamin, Brenda Jackson, and Leon Jackson of Charlotte NC; special niece; Shemeki R Ketter of Hartsville SC Also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, close relatives, and friends. Geneva is proceeded in death by her husband Albertus Hawkins Sr, four sisters, Lizzie Jackson-Ketter, Ruth Jackson Wilson, Edith Mae Jackson, Leona Jackson Woods, and two brothers, Deacon Wilkins Jackson and Leroy Jackson and one grandson Christopher Hicks
