Joe Louis Black was born on July 3, 1939, in Lincoln, NC. He was the son of the late Jasper and Katherine Miller Black. He received his education in the public schools in the area. He was employed with MarMac for 26 years until retirement and was a member of Nicey Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Dorothy Richardson Black; children, Joseph (Tammy) Black, Randy Black, Princess Black Lowery and Billy (Chanell) Dewitt all of McBee, SC, Gary (Sabrina) Black, Alisha Black and Evonda Black all of Hartsville, SC; special son-in-law, Ronnie (Phyllis) Lowery of Pageland, SC; Thirty-six grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; Eight sisters-in-law, and seven brothers-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews and other close relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Bobby Joe and Lee Black; two sisters and nine brothers.
