John L. Brown was born on June 24, 1935, in Bennettsville, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Elisha Brown. He received his education in the public schools in the area. After many years of dedication with the Mafco Mill. He came out due to disability. During his leisure he took pride in cleaning his home and vehicles and listening to music, talking to friends and helping others was always one of his greatest joys.
Those left to cherish his memories are two children, Macky Graham and Lerand (Cheryl) Brown; Three sister-in-laws, Margaret Boggs, Willean Coleman and Betty Bailey; Five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; Three special nieces, Michelle Brown and Beatrice Carolina; A special granddaughter, Tekeela McGee; A host of nieces, nephews and other close relatives and friends.
