Sis. Louise McKay Tedder was born on March 28, 1945. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Prince and Leila Green McKay of Darlington County. She departed this life on Friday, September 20, 2019 at MUSC in Florence, SC. She will be lovingly remembered by her family, friends, church family, and members of the community. Louise was loved and adored by her family and many others. She attended Rosenwald High School. She worked many years at the Bethea Baptist Home in Darlington, SC where she later retired. She will always be remembered for the delicious, savory meals she prepared for church events, school activities, weddings, etc. Her pleasant personality and generous spirit were experienced by many.
She was a member of the Church in the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostles’ Doctrine, Inc. She was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. She married her late husband, Bro. Leo Tedder in 1965.
She leaves to cherish her memories: four children, a daughter, Verma Lee Tedder of the home; three sons, Bernard Tedder of the home; Leonard Tedder of Darlington, SC, and Shanard (Nicole) Tedder also of Darlington, SC. Her family also includes Dominick Ishmell, a special grandson whom she loved as her own. One brother, Bro. Albert McKay, Sr. of Thomasville, NC . Three sisters, Lucille McNeil of Darlington, SC; Juanita (Eugene) Tedder of Dovesville, SC and Lucy (Charles) Jacobs of Society Hill, SC . Four sister-in laws, Carrie Tedder, of Dovesville, SC, Linda Tedder, of Florida, Betsy Tedder of Darlington, SC and Wilhelmina Johnson, of Shiloh, SC. One brother-in-law, James Harrison of Winston-Salem, NC. She leaves ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She also leaves a very special niece, Connie Jacobs; a special friend, Ann Simon and two very special love ones, Tiffany Jones & Novenia Patterson whom she also called her own. She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, and two sisters. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and a large church family
