Lynwood “Lewis” Fountain was the eight off spring of the late Willis Fountain Jr. and Luella Hawkins Fountain. He was born Nov. 11, 1948 in Hartsville, S.C. Lewis was educated in the Darlington County School system and graduated from Butler High School, Class of 1967. After graduation Lewis moved to New York to seek employment. He found the job he was looking for and worked for “Prior Inc,” in New Jersey for many years until the job moved out of state. Lewis was a hard worker. He found work in New York School system, there he worked until 2015, at which time he retired.
Lewis leaves to cherish his memory, one daughter, Shauntel Thompson, one son, Terell Thompson and their mother, Stephanie Thompson, of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Four sisters, Mrs. Louise F, Marigault of Lamar, South Carolina, Naomi F. Stevenson, and Katie F. Manson, of Hartsville, South Carolina, and Lois F. Butler of Brooklyn, N.Y., and brother Howard Fountain of Lamar, South Carolina. A host of nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and very dear friends. Lewis was preceded in death by his parents Willi and Luella H. Fountain, two brothers, Willie M. and Sammie L. Fountain and one sister Romana F. Robinson.
