On March 11, 1942, in Darlington, South Carolina, Columbus “Bill” and Tarrah Lee Beaty Samuel welcomed the birth of Ruby L. Samuel. She received her education in the public schools in the area and graduated from Rosenwald High School with the class of 1960. Upon graduation Ruby became employed with various jobs in the area. She untied in holy matrimony to Wesley Jackson, Jr. and to this union, three beautiful daughters were born. Ruby was a loving wife and devoted mother and also enjoyed the caring for her family and those around her. On Wednesday, October 16, 2019 an angel gracefully descended from above and whispered, dear sweet beloved sister, “it is time” . Blessed me the name of the Lord for such an incredible life of love, laughter, memories and indeed a legacy.
Those left to cherish her sweet memories are her loving husband, Wesley Jackson, Jr. of McDonough, GA; Three devoted daughters, Sheila M, (Jimmy) Wilkerson of Charleston, SC, Vanessa L. (Michael) Yancey of McDonough, GA and Loretta J. (Woodie) Sharpless of Canton, GA; One sister, Willeen Samuel (Josey) Blakney of Willingboro, NJ; One stepbrother Robert Beaty in Philadelphia, PA; A God-daughter, Sherri McPhail of Charlotte, NC; Three grandchildren, three great grandchildren; One niece, Tammi T. (Ross) Hammond ; one nephew, Stevie D. Blakney a host of other nieces, nephews and other close relatives and friends. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents Columbus “Bill” and Tarrah Lee Beaty Samuel.
