Veronica “Von” Baker was born on May 29, 1969, in Chesterﬁeld County. She was the loving daughter of Kenneth and Linda King Baker. She received her education in the public school district of Chesterﬁeld County and was a 1987 graduate of McBee High School in McBee, SC. She continued her studies at the following institutions: Hair Academy in Maryland obtaining her cosmetology license, the Bladensburg Barber School in Maryland where she received her license as a Master Barber, the South Carolina Massage & Esthetics Insitute specializing in Microdermabrasion and Brazilian Waxing Techniques and was voted the class salutatorian, and last but not least Midlands Technical College where she specialized in Floral Design.
“Von” as she was aﬀectionaltely known was the owner of Von’s Barbershop & Day Spa in Pageland, SC where she served many clients with special and unique services. She was truly passionate about making her customers look and feel good. She attended Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church as a youth and enjoyed the fellowship at other churches in the community. “Von” loved to cook, take pictures, model, and had a true sense of fashion. She had great strength, dignity, and faith during her journey. On Sunday, April 29, 2018, our dear sister in Christ answered the call of her Heavenly maker and transitioned peacefully.
Those left to cherish her loving memories are her parents, Kenneth and Linda K. Baker; One daughter, Indya Sco-tia Hough; ree siblings, Kenneth Baker, Jr., Tiﬀany (Nathaniel) Baker Canfall and Linda Michelle Hough; One grandchild, Wyatt; Special companion, Larry Robinson; Aunts, Uncles, and her loving Nieces & Nephews who are llexia, Hannah, Rebekah, Faith, Joshua, Justice, Hope and Ramona; and a host of other close relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Eloise Gail Baker.
