James Walter Larry, Jr. was born on October 11, 1957 in Lee County. He was the son of the late James Walter and Jannie Bell Larry, Sr. He received his education in the public schools in the Darlington County area and graduated from Hartsville High School with the class of 1976. He furthered his education graduating from Florence- Darlington Technical College with and Associate Degree in Criminal Justice and Morris College in 2000 with a Bachelor Degree in Management. Walter served in the United State Marine Corp. earning a Sea Service       deployment ribbon, Kuwait Liberation Medal, Nation Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and Southwest Asia Service Medal. He was employed with the Department of
Corrections for 25 years and was also affiliated with the Wateree Bee Association. 


Those left to cherish his memories are his little girls, Marquita Nicole Larry of Wilmington, NC, Dominique Lachelle (Shonronda) Larry-Lennon of Peachtree City, GA and LaToya Tanee Walker of Stockbridge, GA; Devoted companion Rosanell Peoples of Hartsville, SC; Mother(s) of his children, Olga R. Larry of Wilmington, NC and Anita Dowdy of Wilmington, NC; Five grandchildren, Sariah Olivaria, Virgil Olivaria, Jr., Aryanah Larry, Ve’Andre Olivara, Jordynn Thompson; Four siblings, Loretta (Norris) Evans of Hartsville, SC, Lonnie Larry of
Charlotte, NC, Kevin T. Larry and Keith (Aurelia) Larry both of Hartsville, SC; four nieces, three nephews, three uncles, eight aunts; a host of other close relatives and friends.


He was preceded in death by his parents.
